PUAMANA

Gated oceanfront community featuring a private beach, lush gardens, and magical surf breaks.

Welcome to Puamana

Puamana is a gated community with 30 acres of prime oceanfront real estate. It boasts a mile of shoreline and a lush tropical landscape of soaring banyan trees and colorful exotic flowers. There’s a collection of fruit trees in the common area, with two of the oldest Hayden mango trees in Lahaina. There are three swimming pools, including a spectacular oceanfront pool where you can feel the waves splash over you. This famed pool is the last one like it in the state of Hawaii. Other amenities include a tennis court, a fitness center, and a private, historic clubhouse that dates back to 1919 and has been home to many prominent Maui families throughout the years. The weather is almost always sunny, and the private beach is also great for surfing on the south shore or relaxing away from the touristy resorts.

Low-rise townhouses offer unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. Puamana was first developed in the 1960s, and many homes have been recently remodeled. They feature open floor plans, spacious kitchens, sliding glass doors, stainless steel appliances, and modern fixtures. Traditional lanais have ample area for outdoor dining and barbeques. Owners can rent their homes to vacationers year-round. A short walk or bike ride is the center of Lahaina, with cafes, shops, and restaurants. You’ll also find world-class golf courses in nearby Kaanapali and Kapalua.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Puamana is an all-residential neighborhood, but the shopping and dining are close by in Lahaina. The Shops at 505 is just a five-minute drive. Feast at Lele is an upscale Polynesian restaurant featuring 5-course meals and seaside luaus. Pacific’O on the Beach serves local seafood and organic produce with amazing ocean views. Come to watch the sunset for a romantic date night. Voted “Maui’s Best Restaurant” 28 years in a row, Lahaina Grill is an island landmark specializing in steak, seafood, and Hawaiian specialties in a fine-dining setting.

For a more casual setting, Cheeseburger in Paradise serves their world-famous burgers, tropical drinks, and other island favorites amongst colorful tiki décor. Kimo’s Maui features local seafood, prime rib, and their famed Hula Pie desserts. Their terrace seating offers spectacular views of the harbor. Lahaina Fish Co also features open-deck dining and serves locally-sourced seafood and cocktails. Down the Hatch Maui is an open-air courtyard restaurant serving seafood, shaved ice, and cocktails. They host live music during breakfast, happy hour, dinner, live band karaoke, and trivia nights.

In the historic Pioneer Inn, Papa’aina is a laid-back whaler’s saloon offering American fare and seafood plates. For pizzas, Kapena’s Wood Fired Kitchen sources local ingredients for their wood-fired pizzas, and Prison Street Pizza offers build-your-own thin-crust pies and calzones. The Wharf Cinema Center Shops in historic Lahaina Town has specialty shops and several spas.

Things to Do

Puamana features a seasonal sandy beach and three surf breaks. There are surfing spots by the park perfect for beginners, as well as an advanced short-board surf area by the ocean pool. The Hot Sands surf break is a local favorite with three to five-foot swells. The west coast of Maui is also great for snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing. You can watch humpback whales splashing out in the ocean from December to April. The ferry to Lanai is only 50 minutes, offering several round trips daily. The Lahaina Recreational Center is a nine-acre park with a basketball court and a soccer field. It also has a dog park, a skate park, picnic areas, and a playground.
